Acura Will Introduce Clean Diesel i-DTEC Engine in 2009
DETROIT - January 13, 2008
Acura will introduce the new i-DTEC clean diesel engine to the North American market in 2009. The i-DTEC engine reduces noxious exhaust emissions while boosting power and fuel efficiency. A combination of optimized combustion chamber design and reduced injection time results in a clean, quiet engine that delivers excellent performance for an enjoyable driving experience. In addition, the i-DTEC engine meets the ultra-stringent U.S. EPA Tier II Bin 5 emission standards without the on-board storage of urea.

Subaru G4e Concept Car Preview

Today Subaru provided a sneak preview of the G4e concept car, which will be displayed along with the more mature R1e design at the upcoming 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. Details are still a bit sketchy, but the G4e has the largest wheelbase in it's class and you can see it is an attractive four door hatchback design. It also features air conditioning and a super-cool dash. The motor is rated at 65kW and it is powered by a 346V battery pack.

More Than 40 World and North American Vehicle Debuts Planned For the Los Angeles Auto Show

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., (TMS) today announced that it will provide Toyota plug-in (PHEV) hybrid prototypes to the Advanced Power and Energy Program at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB), as part of its on-going sustainable mobility development program with the two UC campuses. Also, today, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced that the Japan Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport has certified prototype plug-in hybrid vehicles for use of similar testing on Japan public roads.
